I've absolutely adored Karima Francis and her music for two or three years now and it's with jubilant excitement that I can announce her new single and video, Wherever I Go. The new, mature and retrospective Karima is showcased throughout and the final product is something I've been itching to hear and see.
The subtle tones of a somewhat broken woman can be heard throughout this track, and it's a big change from her debut album, The Author. Her talent is raw and, from seeing her countless times in the past, I can tell that she hasn't had anything done to her voice via computers - that's so refreshing and gives it a much better sense of reality.
The lyrics throughout are from the deepest depths of Karima's heart and soul and that's easily noticeable. Her singing, at times, has a remarkable cower about it where she seems to not want to sing the words that could surely hurt someone's feelings. Nonetheless, she creates something of sheer beauty and passion.
The chorus is the pinnacle of the song, for me, and holds up beautifully with a fantastic harmony throughout. It wreaks of emotion and power that can surely melt most listeners to the ground beneath them.
I'm over the moon to announce Karima's comeback and I just know that the new album, The Remedy (due August 2012) is going to be something amazing.
Paul.
