Are Linkin Park, Losing Plot?!

Linkin Park, ones that we'll all have heard of because they were absolutely massive, relatively fresh in their hype and made rock, really cool. Their latest track, despite the hoarse as always vocal, is something that changes their scope and changes the parts I knew and loved when I was younger ... I'm not so keen on Burn It Down.
This synth infused song is on its way to being a pop-track with a drum-line that really steps back from the Linkin Park of old and brings onto the horizon a new, The Wanted-influenced, band. As I've already said, other than the vocal, I really am disappointed with this, I think it's the fact that if you did strip back Chester Bennington's voice ... the backing would be on par with some of the boy-band's that this generation has to offer.
Annoyingly, I don't think it would be such a 'bad' song if it wasn't for the fact that I've heard and loved much better things from these guys beforehand ... I'm just comparing to what I know.

I hate to be someone who dislikes a bands music because it's not the same as before, but, here's to hoping that their new album, called Living Things, will not be so 'catchy' and pop influenced and will be more on the notion of their old ethos.
Paul.
